Dyschronia (2026) is an audiovisual sound film that explores the closures of the South Wales coal industry, tracing the absence of its future across the spatial and temporal sites of Tata Steelworks and the Aberavon Coast. Dyschronia imagines a space where time and place blur and breakdown, where the picturesque sound of the coast warps and fades into the sound of industrial hum, through generators, steam towers and blast furnaces. Through experiments in asynchronicity between sound and image, Dyschronia draws into question a space where memories of the future and dreams of the industrial past become equally displaced.
